Why My R90 Sleep App Helps Thousands Sleep Better

I built R90 Sleep to save myself. In 2020, I had insomnia. I read "Sleep" by Nick Littlehales and loved the R90 theory. But practicing it was a hassle: "If I wake at 7 AM, when should I sleep? If I miss this window, when is the next?"

I thought: Why isn't there an App to calculate this?

Design Philosophy: Less is More

Most sleep apps add complexity: recording snores, analyzing dreams, requiring wearables. R90 Sleep removes complexity.

1. Two Core Actions

  • When do I wake up? -> App tells you tonight's sleep windows.
  • How many cycles did I get? -> App logs it to your weekly bank.

2. An Anxiety Blocker

A user reviewed: "I used to panic when I couldn't sleep. Now the App says the next window is 1:30 AM. I just read a book calmly until then, and I actually fall asleep." The value is not just calculation, but anxiety relief. It tells you: It's okay to miss the bus; there's another one coming.

User Stories

I've received many emails:

"During my exams, R90 taught me to be productive on just 6 hours of sleep." "As a new mom, R90 helped me use fragmented time to recover. It saved me."

This feedback proved that a simple tool, solving a real pain point, is powerful.

Continuous Evolution

In the latest version, I added:

  • HealthKit Sync: No more manual entry. Auto-converts sleep data into cycles.
  • Widgets: Reminds you of tonight's best bedtime on your home screen.
